"Patience"
We preach it, we think about it, we fell for its existence, but do we ever really use it? For those who pursue the "Big Fish" you know more of this topic than those who enjoy any 'bending of the rod'.
Personally I have been on a quest not to just go out and enjoy the fishing but to almost always be on the hunt for this "Big One".
During this journey there have been many things learned to increase my success, but the one that stands out above all else is simply being more patient.
Patience in the selection (flip rocks, shake bushes, pump stomachs). Patience in your approach (study the terrain, pick a path, stealth in your step). Patience in your entry (5 minutes before cast, first cast most important cast, planned throughout presentation).
Patience, Patience, Patience !!
Patience it's one thing we all can practice at any water, any fish species and any time of year. It doesn't require any special gear and it doesn't take years of experience to learn. It does take commitment and practice and the results will soon speak for themselves. That my fellow fly fisher, I guarantee!

Bonefish Dave
